Nobel people...

It seems my country is doing fairly well in this year's Nobel Prize race. The downside of this is that these successes make it easier to pitch the argument, "it's all good actually," in the destitute world of German academia. More on this here (in German, however).

Today (Friday), the Nobel Foundation will announce this year's Peace Prize winner. How can they "top" last year's choice? While the Peace Prize is something for the heart and people's softer side, the real good stuff will happen on Monday with the Economics Prize. Greg Mankiw does some betting on it.
